Prince and Björk fans

Is it just me, or does there seem to be an disproportionate amount of Prince and Björk fans out there? They overlap quite a bit.

Not to say it's a bad thing, just an interesting observation.

I think she's cool - her stuff is very different and addicting. And you all know how I feel about Prince smile

Why do you think Prince fans seem to be drawn to Björk, or vice versa, or both? Or is it all just crazy luck, weird coincidences?

AND, because I seem to have the absolute worst luck when it comes to starting new threads, please point me in the right direction if this thread already exists.

Nervously waiting,

Natsume

Perhaps it is because both Prince and Bjork encompass the meaning of the term "musician." Perhaps it is that they both are quite artistic. Perhaps it is because both push their listeners into intense emotional and spiritual territory. Whatever the case is, I LOVE them both! I'd love to hear a collaboration.

I saw this thread and remembered that i bought 'debut' like a month ago and still hadn't listened to it. I've just finished listening to it and WOW, It's great. I wasn't expecting to like it so much, i thought maybe listening to her 'distinctive' voice for an hour might annoy me. But no, i was wrong. smile

How does this album compare with her others?

There was another song she did that I really like but I can't think what its called. I think it was released just after 'Its so quite'. Any ideas?

Post was her follow-up to Debut. The single that succeeded It's Oh So Quiet is called Hyper-Ballad, and it IS incredible. My favorite on Post is Isobel. Homogenic (1997), Selmasongs (2000), and Vespertine (2001) are fantastic as well.

If I had to put her albums in order, it would go...

-Vespertine
-Post
-Homogenic
-Debut
-Selmasongs (simply because it only has 7 songs)

I am a Bjork fan as well. Debut is actually my favorite album of hers (Post is a close second). I have the version of Debut that contains 'Play Dead', which is (IMO) one of her best songs.

Cool topic...I think I was attracted to Bjork for the same reason I was attracted to Prince...I saw here live and she just blew me away...she's just as weird and talented as Prince...imo...
