Last 3 CDs Purchased Part II

David Bowie - Stage (Remaster)

Jeff Buckley - Sketches for My Sweetheart The Drunk

Morrissey - The Best of Morrissey

Don't really have an opinion on the Morrissey, I only listened to a few songs on it. The new version of Stage sounds incredible. I only had it on vinyl, so I've never heard it so crisp or clear before. Station to Station is a revelation, and that guitar solo on Stay drool !

I've only listened to Sketches once or twice since I bought it, but I think I might eventually like it better than Grace. "Everybody Here Wants You" is amazing, and "You and I" might be the most beautiful thing I've ever heard from him. Can't believe I didn't buy this before!

I Love that album!...but It makes me sad and frustrated, too, only because...I wanted more music from him, sad ....

Their new cd is a collaboration with a spanish band called the Noheads. It's ineteresting, and quite different from their earlier stuff. A little more experimental and less electro. More guitars on this one. It's good!

I'm going to cheat as I bought five albums last saturday:

The stunner in this batch was Grant McLennan's Horsebreaker Star: amazingly consistent songwriting with straight-ahead playing and production.

The dud was the Gastr Del Sol album. I'd heard a few things by the band that I'd liked, and I loved Jim O'Rourke's solo album from a few years back, but this record doesn't work for me at all. The longer songs sound like my neighbour's central vac.

The last four that I bought right here! I paid only $26.00 but granted that is with my 10% off. Still, only $27.99 at Circuit City (and if you don't like them, take the ad to another store). Got shop around, kids...it sells for $45.99 at most places!
