what artist could sing the phonebook and have a hit? this was a question I came across on another forum, so i thought I'd post it here to.
I'd think someone overly popular like 50 cent or so...that guys fans will probably buy anything. Artists that are so good they could make a hit out of it? I dunno, Bowie? It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis! | |

well, his music doesn't count as "singing," but i bet 50 Cent could rap the phone book and have a hit. his real lyrics are just as inane. just put him mumbling names over a dr. dre beat and it's certified top 10... | |

Bowie, however, hasn't had what you'd call a hit with his own material-- as good as it undoubtedly is-- in decades so I doubt he could. That's not a bad thing though.
