Kinks Album Suggestions

I want to buy a Kinks record. Do they have a Sgt. Sign'o'ElectricLadyNevermind? or should I get a greatest hits?

P.S.

Yes, and you should also nab a greatest hits comp to get all the early rockers, like 'You Really Got Me' etc . . no home should be without.

I got the Village Green Preservation Society.

It's got that song they're using in some commercial right now--"Pictures of your mama, taken by your papa, a long time ago..." which is very catchy.

The rest sounds pretty good, though it's a bit more mellow than I expected. But I think after just two listens that it's starting to grow on me.

I would like to but a more upbeat one next. Any suggestions?

For an upbeat album, I must again recommend seeking out 'Face to Face.'

Or pick up the generally upbeat 'The Ultimate Collection' which includes the majority of their early rockin stuff . . .

Also nice, their collected BBC performances:

And if you wanna shoot for something from their later years, 'Give the People What They Want' was chock full of toe tappers.

Happy kollekting to you . . .
