Jamiroquai's new single "Feels Just Like It Should"---exclusive news on their new CD 'Dynamite' I was visiting a few Jamiroquai fansites, and it seems that the new single "Feels Just Like It Should" has already leaked. It's available on Napster U.K. Has anyone heard it yet? Here is one fan's enthusisatic review of it...
"Gotta tell you,I've heard "Feels Just Like It Should" (in fact I'm listening to it now).It came onto the English Napster (the proper one) on Monday--I just stumbled across it now.I think it's the funkiest thing they've ever done. It's not like other Jamiroquai stuff. It has this awesome riff running through it,guitar backed up with an overdriven synthesizer (like a phat Moog bass line run through a guitar amp).Glittered with occasional wah-wah guitar licks. This is real old skool disco stuff---get your mirror ball, best flairs/afro combination---jacket over shoulder---and work it! The lyrics are the usual Jay Kay ramble ("Going out on laser beams, that shoots out cherry style/I'm like a little free agent,I got myself a five-mile smile")---or something like that, the lyrics are hard to make out.I'm a songwriter---I know when something has "hit" written on it.This is going to be a big one". Another fan has a different take on it... "I really don't know what you mean by "this is old school disco stuff".It's pretty rock heavy sounding to me.It sounds like a Beck track off 'Midnight Vultures'.....electrofunk fused with rock" And one fan has a negative view of it... "I don't like it one bit. It's not Jamiroquai's style at all IMO and I think JK is losing his touch.I thought that 'A Funk Odyssey' was pushing it a bit,but this is just downright not the Jamiroquai like I know and love. This song sounds like any other track you'd hear on the radio,in that it's nothing special. It reminds me of "Black Devil Car" which I didn't really like but I could get used to it,but this is worse. It's too rocky and rock wasn't what got me into Jamiroquai,it was FUNK.The effects on the vocals is shit, and it if the whole album is like this,I'll be very,VERY disappointed" A brief 14-second snippet can be heard here.If the link doesn't work, try again later... http://www.geocities.com/...review.wma I haven't heard it in it's entirety yet,so I can't comment.Hopefully,I'll hear it sometime this weekend. It's from the upcoming CD 'Dynamite',which is due on June 21.The video for "Feels Just Like It Should" is being directed by Joseph Kahn (Britney Spear's "Toxic"). it's impossible to judge a song by hearing a brief,14-second sample but I knda like this groove.Sounds like they're gonna rock out a little more, this time around.

That horn-head logo is SO tired.
The song snippet was pretty hot, though. [Edited 3/22/05 10:09am]

FIRST NEW ALBUM IN OVER 3 YEARS TO BE RELEASED ON JUNE 20TH 2005
Almost 4 years on from the release of their last album, the multi-platinum,No.1 'Funk Odyssey' (his best best selling UK album since 'Traveling Without Moving'),Jay Kay and his band return with their eagerly anticipated 6th studio album, entitled 'Dynamite' and released on June 20th 2005. 'Dynamite'---and it is---is set to further Jamiroquai's reputation as one of the UK's most successful exports of the last decade and more, with over 20 million worldwide sales to date.'Dynamite' is also Jamiroquai's most accomplished and diverse work to date, with new co-producer Mike Spencer at the controls with Kay,it encompasses fantastic songwriting and plenty of floor-filling classics-in-waiting. Lead single "Feels Just Like It Should",written by Jay,is released on June 6th and sees Jamiroquai at their harder-edged,groove-based,funking best, with Jay's own vocodered vocals providing the fuzz bass line. Although this track showcases a harder Jamiroquai sound, the album also contains anthemic disco stompers (title track "Dynamite" and "Give Hate A Chance"),while moving the sound on with the funk-driven rock of "Black Devil Car" and the laid-back summer vibes of "Seven Days In Sunny June". Jamiroquai will be announcing plans for UK live dates and a year-long world tour shortly. "Feels Just Like It Should" will be released on June 6th on SONY BMG.The album 'Dynamite' to be released on June 20th.
