What are your picks for the best Aretha Franklin collection?

I am looking for one extensive collection that covers most of her best work from the 60's to the early and mid 70's. Which collections is the best?

That's a good one too. I also like "Jump To It" and "Get It Right".

There's not really a lot of Aretha stuff that I'm into. I have a DJ version of "Respect" that is absolutely kickin'.

The Altantic material is probably Aretha Franklin at the height of her powers.

If you can stand the freight, consider...

...Queen of Soul: The Atlantic Recordings

That one, and this one(covers Aretha's years of innocence when she was with Columbia from 1960 to 1966, I think):

I prefer Aunt ReRe's pre-67 years music the music she delievered then was so RAW and intimate nod

You got the icing on the fat cake If you bought these 2 compilations 2ghether.

the greatest box set
this is by far the best box set i have.it showcases the queen's ability to challenge many different musical sides and it does really well.she is the baddest female artist ever.this is a brillant set.

Also Recommended: amazing grace, jazz to blues, all her stuff from 67-76 the arista hits 80-94

^^^ mistermaxx comes through with some other recommendations too.

The Queen of Soulbox set may be one of the greatest collections of music ever. Aretha was the best female vocalist of our time, and this set shows her at the height of her powers.
There's also an Arista Greatest hits CD that covers her post 1980 output that's recommended, but of course doesn't come close to her Atlantic output

What happened to him? I rememeber when I used to do Amazon reviews (oh to be young and innocent) I talked with a him a little and then used to talk to him hear....I miss him. I just looked and he has over 5000 reviews...he doesn't own all those things he reviews, does he? He even reviews stuff I'm sure he doesn't like! He is a great reviewer, though, cause he is all over the map!
