I had always heard about Marilyn Manson but never payed much attention to him or his music(although i did hear and enjoy "This Is The New Shit"),but i saw a clip of his "Anti-Christ Superstar" show this weekend and this show was the most Satanic, Vile, Disturbing thing i have ever seen in my life. the songs reeked of drugs,sex, violence & devil worship and he looked just plain Evil(and not to mention high) while performing. the lyrics were druggy and groaned out, i could bearly understand a word he was saying, the stage was decorated with nazi war symbols and heretic marks. How is he so popular among people?? i was most disturbed after seeing that show. Marilyn Manson should be banned from ever perfroming again

He's just trying to shock people , i don't take all those things too seriously

he's musically talentless, but he's sometimes interesting to listen to when he talks. but beyond the shock-rock bullshit there aren't any decent SONGS.

I'm not a fan of his music, but some of it I can appreciate for what it is. I am however, a fan of the man. From the interviews I've seen, he comes across as very articulate and intelligent -a rarity in the celebrity world.

I thought he was all 'act' and show as well and thought it was pathetic but then I actually went to a show and his live voice was incredible and the band rocked. He's a pretty savvy guy but just a shame he didn't take his music to a more interesting place

Dude. Marilyn Manson is a fuckin' work of art, but none of his things are meant to be taken seriously. Like others have already pointed out, his persona is about shock value, something that Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper mastered. Manson worked with him, and was supposed to take over as the new Minister. However, as much as Manson liked to play around with the work of the Devil, he never truly followed it, but kept his shows that way.

Marilyn Manson plays guitar and the keyboard on many songs on his albums, and most of them, like Anti Christ Superstar, Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley of Death), and Mechanical Animals have been acclaimed by critics and fans alike, selling a hell of a lot of copies. He is very poetic and thought out about what he is saying, lyrically, and within his books. But it's because of his so-called "craziness" because of how he acts on stage and how he dresses that people like you can't understand his art. I am proud to say I am a fan of Marilyn Manson, and if you think about it, what makes his stage show so much different than Prince's from back in the day? They were both androgynous, both dressed/expressed themselves how they pleased (assless pants, which even Manson did, heels, and make-up) and sang about sex and indecencies. But you have no problem sticking up for Prince who virtually had the same stage presence years ago...

Also, Lamb of God is okay. I've seen them twice, but the pits aren't that nuts. I've seen much worse (or better, depending if you like pits as I do), with bands like Slipknot and Hatebreed.
