Joni Mitchell - BLUE

OK so I've gotten no help at all from the Joni fansites on this one; so I figured I'd ask the Prince peeps. Back in the day of file swapping I got a version of Joni Mitchells "Blue" (which I adore). This version has heavy organ/synthesizer work (like that of "Woodstock") and layered multi track vocals. I LOVE this version and would like to buy it; but this is not the album version; nor is it the "Miles of Aisles" live version. I can't find this version anywhere and no one seems to know where it comes from. If anyone could be of any assistance I'd greatly appreciate it. If you'd like to hear the track to know just what I'm talking about, send me an org note and I can send you a clip. Thanx all. smile

Woodstock isn't on Blue. It's on Ladies Of The Canyon. smile

Blu-u-u-u-u-e....songs are liiiiike tatoos.....

I would advise that you head over to the Joni Mitchell Discussion list www.jmdl.com . The site has a lot of stuff on it besides the discussion list itself--it's the best site for Joni info on the web that I know of.

There are a number of people who post on the jmdl who have a comprehensive knowledge of all of Joni's albums, outtakes, and concert bootlegs. If there is anybody on the web would know where that particular version comes from, it would be the folks over there.

sad They didn't help me. I was on that site several months ago. And no one knew what I was talking about. I guess I'll give it a try again since no one here knows either.

Hmm...is it Joni singing on this version? Because Sarah McLachlan covered Blue and her version has lots of multi-track vocals and synth work..I believe it was a B-side on either the "Possession" or "Good Enough" single...

Hope this helps!

Well I've just ordered this version off of E bay. I was about to say I'm so embarrassed that I mistook Sarah's voice for Joni's; but then I listened to some of Sarah's other work and, she does sound a lot like Joni. Thank you so much for this info. We'll see in a week or so if this is the same version.
