ANYONE HIP TO GALACTIC? They are from New Orleans and are SO fonkey! I discovered them a few years ago and have since picked up all their CDs. I would really like to see them live sometime. There really is not another band out there doing it like they are ... James Brown-like rhythms mixed with jazz and techno with a Canjun twist. What I really love about them is they sound authentic -- real funk with real instruments played by people who understand the music that preceded them and want to keep that spirit alive while adding their own spin to it. Check them out!

Galactic belong to the funk contingent of the Jam Band crowd.
If you dig them, you'll probably also like... 
...Lettuce Lettuce is a bit more citified-funk but they also pay homage to the roots. tA  Tribal Disorder

I saw them one time at a festival(just checked them out because of the Jesse conection) I thought the band was tight, but I just couldn't get into the singer | |
