The Pretenders are overrated and I want to pick Blondie, but they never released anything like The Pretenders first album. Shit like Mystery Achievement, Precious…….that’s one of the best rock albums ever…edge Pretenders.

Pretenders. Neither is among my favorite bands, but I do like quite a few of both bands' stuff. I'm giving it to the Pretenders for Talk of the Town and their first album. Learning to Crawl was pretty good, too.

I humbly bow to both.

both are awesome. as a musician/songwriter double threat i'd go with the pretenders, but in terms of vocals and general icon goddess vibes, i'd have to lean more toward la harry and blondie. it's kinda apples and oranges to me, i guess.

I know Blondie's music better and I love Debbie Harry's whole thing. The Pretenders I quite like too but only really know the singles.

Blondie had some decent songs, but I like The Pretenders, because of Chrissie's passionate and emotional prowess.

Ya know...I like Blondie, I do. But I've never really formed any emotional connection to their music. It's just fun in that ironic downtown diva way.

But Chrissie's best songs are like a sweet stab in the heart. I gotta go Pretenders.

i can connect with blondie's music really easily - i think just about everything they've done is really catchy, and i can't get enough of debbie harry's voice, really.

however, the pretenders songs that i like, i REALLY REALLY like, and there are few finer treats than opening up a magazine interview with chrissie hynde, because she's always got tons of interesting things to say. plus she's a vegetarian!

i gotta quote peaches on this one - "like blondie, check out my chrissie be-hynde, it's fine all of the time."

I like the Pretenders, but I absolutely adore Blondie. I was in shock when I first heard The Curse of Blondie. It has honestly become my favorite of their albums, and that is quite a statement!
