A question for those in Chicago: is the Aragon Ballroom a general admission kinda place? Should I worry about the best tickets selling out in a presale? What's it like there and what's the capacity?

it's a general admission kinda place. i saw gorillaz there and i saw the pixies there. personally, i like watching shows at the aragon from the balcony, because it's a great view and you don't have to contend with the teeming throngs below.

it's a big place, but it's not huge. hardly an arena but it's not modest either.

and it's two train stops from my apartment! biggrin

Just one problem, I live in the UK and have no money to go traipsing around the globe.

Still, I'm sure they'll tour over here.....won't they..? Please?

If you're wondering what it looks like, check out Pearl Jam's Video for "Evenflow" it was filmed there.

I also think that Baja Men "best years of our" life was filmed there as well

but Pearl Jam for sure

sigh

This is QUITE tempting. I've never seen New Order live and I love that venue.

Alas, I must stick to my guns with being 'fiscally responsible' this year. So, now show for me.

Gangsta, you should TOTALLY go. I know how much you like New Order. You would love them at this venue. I expect you to go and give us all a full report biggrin

....need coffee edit...

I'm going to the Oakland show. The Chemical Bros are also playing. The venue, Kaiser Auditorium, kind of sucks. Basically, a gym. neutral

general admission, except for the balcony. saw Prince there in 1998. isn't too conducive to dancing, unless that was a special case of people cramming up to the front. didn't get a good look at how much room was in the back.
