for u2 fans - possible setlist

so from several various reports - and its all rumour at this point - the band is rehearsing 40-45 songs and will have a rotating setlist. this rumour is supported by news from u2.com that mentions all of the tour section perks of their site. apparantly the site will be posting the setlist after each show which means it will surely be different each night - otherwise why post it each night? so far these are the songs rumoured to have been heard during rehearsals:

an cat dubh/into the heart
the ocean
out of control
i will follow
gloria
lemon
numb
running to stand still
acrobat
love and peace or else
sometimes you can't make it on your own
vertigo
city of blinding lights
bullet the blue sky
miracle drug
walk on
beautiful day
elevation
stay
mysterious ways
one
until the end of the world
angel of harlem
where the streets have no name
40
yahweh
all because of you
i still haven't found what i'm looking for
electric storm
the hands that built america
hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me
sunday bloody sunday
new years day
seconds
pride
bad
mlk
three sunrises
ultraviolet
please
staring at the sun
stuck in a moment
kite

i think these are all of the songs i've seen floating around in various supposed "rehearsal" rumours. we'll soon see, but i just wanted to add to the hype of it all!

Hmmm... "Acrobat", to the best of my knowledge has never been played live outside of a Zoo TV rehersal. I think it was the only Achtung Baby song never to make the tour. I'd love to hear it live, though.

I'm excited about the prospects of Please, HMTMKMKM, Lemon, Running to Stand Still, Kite, and Three Sunrises. I actually could do without Mysterious Ways (don't think it comes off properly live), and if they're going to do Numb, they need Bono to do the fat-lady voice live. I really didn't like the Zoo TV version as much without Bono and Clayton.

Still think they need to work Unforgettable Fire into the setlist, and I really want to hear Gone and Dirty Day also.

Another song that has yet to be played live. It was supposed to be the second single from Joshua Tree (video filmed and everything), but Bono decided that he couldn't hit the notes night after night, so they released Still Haven't Found instead.

I'd love to see some Zooropa songs enter into the setlist. I'd especially love to hear Zooropa, Lemon, Dirty Day, a Bono-sung version of The Wanderer, Daddy's Gonna Pay For Your Crashed Car... Hell they could do any song from the album (except Babyface barf ) and I'd lose it.

i agree! zooropa goes overlooked far too often. achtung gets hailed as their masterpiece (along with JT) and pop gets criticized as their worst...zooropa is like the middle sibling who just goes unnoticed, lol.

the latest from fans outside of the rehearsal space in vancouver:

5:45pm*
Stuck(very loose rehearsal - no vox)
Elevation (full band - trying out sounds/arrangment)

Band stopped - I left

*8:00pm*
Unknown(loose jamming with Edge trying out sounds etc.) barely
audible outside venue.

I left once again.

*10:00pm*
One Step Closer
Electric Co.(full version 5-6m)
An Cat Dubh(?)(full version 5-6m)
Beautiful Day
Miracle Drug
Sometimes Make...(with Scott Walker outro - like SNL)
Love/Peace (very loud 'heartbeat' bass part - 'where is the love'
part will make crowds go apeshit)
Elevation(live 'woos')(band fooled around with intro)
Stuck..(Bono and Edge keys only)
Yahweh(very rough version Bono and Edge guitar only)
One
Streets
Gloria(u2 song)
RTSS (full version - Edge piano, no harmonica)
Zoo Station (with weird voiceover intro)
Vertigo(w/ SFB verse and 4-5sec gaps before each chorus) (tonight
was very fast and ragged, it must have been a long day)
All Because of You
Sunday Bloody(full band - original key, stopped after 2 lines -
several more attempts with changes)
40
*12:10*(past midnight) u2 stopped playing for the night

this just keeps getting more and more interesting!

Okay, so here's the next question. What's your dream setlist?

i don't know if i could list my ultimate dream setlist but this is a setlist i would possibly sell my mother for:

love and peace or else
vertigo
a celebration
out of control
gone
kite
acrobat
running to stand still
bad

(acoustic, 2nd stage)

a man and a woman
dancing barefoot
still haven't found...
angel of harlem (starts out acoustic then goes into electric)
(back at main stage) city of blinding lights

(band exits and set changes)

numb
elevation
all because of you
please
seconds
hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me
lemon
desire

encore:

all i want is you
sometimes you can't make it on your own
ultraviolet (light my way)
Yahweh

as of today (25 march), this is the supposed opening night setlist:

City of Blinding Lights
The Electric Co.
An Cat dubh
Into The Heart
Beautiful Day
Miracle Drug
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
Love and Peace Or Else
Elevation
Stuck In a Moment...
Yahweh
Gloria
One
Where the Streets Have No Name
Running to Stand Still
Zoo Station
The Fly
Vertigo
All Because of You
Sunday Bloody Sunday
40

i'm surprised to see so much missing - unforgettable fire, rattle and hum, zooropa, and pop have no representation here. makes me think its a little suspicious. personally, though, i'd be thrilled a set list like this!
