For Your Easter Listening Pleasure Hey, JC, JC! Won't you smile at me? I've said it before, but this was one of the very first albums I ever remember hearing, and my love for it has only grown over the years. Though I also like the Broadway cast album, I prefer the film's original soundtrack. It really is a perfect album. I think it's rare that a Broadway attempt at rock actually sounds like a rock album (apologies to its fan, but I think Rent is terrible) and even more rare that an Andrew Lloyd Webber production manages to rock, but this one succeeds to no end! If you're gonna carve a niche for yourself, I say go all for it. Carl Anderson has done just that over the years; he's made an entire career playing Judas Iscariot. Can't say I blame him, because I love his voice on this album. I know little else of his work, but he gives me goosebumps on this album and his Too Much Heaven on Their Minds is the best track on the album. Though I never thought Ted Neeley was superb as Jesus, he got the job done. And Yvonne Elliman? I Don't Know How to Love Him is the albums most touching and sweet songs. I'm not trying to make an entire Broadway/film soundtrack thread, but would love to hear from fans of this one. I know there are several. [Edited 3/23/05 5:45am]

one of andrew l. webber's best... posture your mandables towards the sky
and oscilate them in an apathetic manner throw your hands in the air and wave 'em like you just don't care

I grew up with this CD/LP being played every Easter by my parents. It reminds me of incense, stations of the cross, and Easter mass. Haven't heard it in a few years, but I definitely have an affinity for the set. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

Yeah, and my baby, Yvonne Elliman. She's so hot. Good thread, rip. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I'm watching the movie right now. It's on TV here in Holland. I haven't seen it in years. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven
