i'm so over people saying their next record is gonna sound like their old record. first of all, it never does. second of all, why would you want it to? janet's my girl and i'll love her til death but if she's gonna do take a new path it should be something new or completely different altogether - not some rehash of the past. that shit never works in the end.

i'll still be in que at midnight, though, buying it up!

falloff

I had forgotten ALL about that!

Well, unless the first single kicks my ass, the next Janet may be the first Janet which me or my bf don't buy.

Sadly, I've lost almost all faith at this point.

Here's to hoping I'll be surprised smile

I'm right with ya. And I usually expect good things from her. And I did like the singles from the last album.

But I can honestly say, I've never cared less about her.

Well...

I was a huge Janet fan and collected everything from the Rhythm Nation and Janet. albums. But then I started getting into other kinds of music and she kinda fell off for me. I got into The Velvet Rope and All For You somewhat, but in between albums, I totally forget about her. I don't anticipate her releases, I don't think about her, I don't consider her a favorite. But I usually buy whatever she has out and enjoy it. But that didn't happen with Damita Jo. What I should've said is, I've never cared less about her career.

A new album? Hasn´t she just released one? It seems like yesterday.

Also,I think it's silly for the producers to go the media, trying to hype up an album, especially at this early stage.Jermaine has done this in the past and it's really annoying. Why not just go into the studio, make a kickass album, and then let the record-buying public decide?

I think she wants to rush a new album out to make people forget about 'Damita Jo' and last year's Super Bowl backlash.I think it's a wise move.A tour could also turn things around for her.

And it better be a better tour than the All for You tour, which bothered me.
Maybe she can try some new dance routines

she's falling off the pop tart charts with her terrible songs. maybe she should wait another year to release another album just to make sure that it sounds great and not just "good". Although i still probably wouldn't buy it then... lol evillol evillol evillol

I don't buy into the hype anymore. When it's released I'll check it out. If it's worth it, I'll buy it.

i gave damita jo a wizz on the playa the other day and after a year or so to infuse, it still sounds great.

Out of all her records i think this one had the most potential to be huge, shame it wasnt promoted at all, one of the reasons ppl tend to bash it.

Of course it has its weaknesses, like the huge amount of tracks and some weak tracks right at the start which loses the listeners' attention, but it is tight from track 5-15

my perfect damito jo would be:

1 Looking for Love
2 Damita Jo
3 My Baby
4 The Islands
5 Spending Time with You
6 Magic Hour
7 Island Life
8 All Nite (Dont Stop)
9 RnB Junkie
10 I want U
11 Like you Dont Love Me
12 Thinkin Bout my Ex
13 SloLove
14 Country
15 Just a Little While

In my opinion this could hav been her best pop record, maybe not "The Velvet Rope" or "Rhythm Nation" but it would be up there.

I haven't bought a Janet album since Velvet Rope- but i did love All Nite (Don't Stop) very much nod Janet has da ability 2 come up with some nice stuff yet she can also come up with da predictablez 2. I guess being in da pop market she has strived 2 satisfy both da palatez of those who go for "conventional" (in my own opinion a little bit boringz) but she also has alotta funky tendenciez- which i love!!

I wonder what her new album will b like. hmmm
No hablo espanol,no! no no no!
Pero hablo ingles..ssii muy muy bien... nod
music "Come into my world..." music

I'd love a new dance album fron Janet but not only do I not see it coming that soon (for Janet, three years between albums is a blessing, so a little more than a year would shock me). Also, I highly doubt JD woule make the kind of dance album that Janet fans craze. We want more Euro producers and less Kayne (AND no Lil' Jon, please!).
