Breezin' - George Benson's and Bobby Womack with Gabor Szabo ...this tune became a smash hit for George Benson, but the original version, written by Bobby Womack, was recorded in 1970 by Jazz guitarist Gabor Szabo for his album, High Contrast(Verve records). It's an interesting album, because it was recorded as a collaboration between the two electric guitarists, with Bobby Womack on one channel and Szabo on the other, so it's an interesting blend of the two styles.
The album was produced by Tommy LiPuma, who would also produce the George Benson version, six years later... 
another interesting thing about the George Benson album is that most of tracks were written by other great artists - Womack wrote Breezin', Leon Russell wrote This Masquerade, Jose Feliciano wrote Affirmation, Phil Upchurch wrote Six to Four, and Ronnie Foster wrote Lady... ...
