Does anybody like gospel music? I admit, I'm not the most religious person in the world, but I love listening to some good gospel. It's cool to watch a gospel group singing, they really get into it, swaying back and forth, clapping their hands. It's a beautiful thing. Anybody feel me on this?

As an atheist, I can't really say that I dig Gospel music. But one album I did enjoy back in the day was that Bebe and Cece Winans album with "Heaven" and "Hold Up The Night" on it.

yes she is the greatest!!! I can't listen to too many gospel artists today because I feel they are trying to make it sound to "hip hopish" to attract younger people. I love the old sounds of gospel. Call me an "old head" if you will.

"differnet lifestyles" by Bebe and Cece Winans helps me thorugh bad days sometimes. I love virtually every song on there. I love "celebrate new life" aswell, off their earlier album.

The Wow Gospel albums that come out every year are good because it includes the broad sprectrum of gospel from traditional to new.

Yeah, I grew up on it too. My dad who was an soul/r&b artist in the 60's and early 70's, started out singing gospel. I have MANY gospel albums from the old days. That is what I favor. The Keynotes are my all time fave gospel group. Try to find their wonderful album "Wide River". That is definately one of my favorite albums by ANYONE. That album is brilliant from top to bottom. The songs, the musicianship, and the singing is out of this world.

True funk is gospel oriented anyway. The way true funk is played. The "in the pocket" but at the same time u have "space". I call that "sloppy tight". Whenever I'm looking for a drummer or a bassist to play in a band, I look first for cats that play or have played in church. You have GOT to be able to hold a pocket in church. And some of the best players, especially drummers, are from the church. James Brown was from the church. It was no accident that his band was the tightest in the world.
