I was wondering why it sounded a little familiar. He performed it on Oprah last year. I think he said EnVogue was singing back up. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Before I opened this thread I thought it was about Stevie Nicks.

did he just say "Prince...pop it"? The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

Sounds pretty good.
The beat's a bit P-Funk, but the lyrics are very hip hop. Check this song out at:

I remember this song.
Stevie made everyone sing along on the chorus at his concert in Stockholm last year Stockholm i mitt hjärta..

His new album is released on May 3rd.
The original En Vogue (Terry,Dawn,Maxine,Cindy)appear on the album. I didn't know the song would be the first single! Is it?

I think this is the first single.
Some cat who works on Motown on OkayP said this was the single. Stevie likes the WestCoast. I like how he phrases on the song.

Yep!! 'Cause Prince is playing bass on it!! Is that true? It seems more like he said that once the guitar started playing for one thing

I was told this by a reliable source at Motown who heard the single yesterday. When Stevie's cd comes out, you'll see the credits.

I'm happy Stevie's out there again... but man I'd truly be a happy mofo just to hear him behind a drumkit again and singing on top of his own multi-layered vocals.
Live drums would breathe so much (more) life into his stuff.

LOVE IT!! This is Stevie's funkiest jam in a long time.I can't wait for the album

Definitely digging the groove.
Kept waiting for some cool changes or badass bridge but it's new Stevie so i'll take what I can get. Don't doubt the validity of the source but I also thought he was cueing Prince in on guitar. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...rmusic.htm "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Well, we know for a fact that Prince has played both bass and guitar on some of his own records, don't we?

Live drums would breathe so much (more) life into his stuff. I think there's a mix of live and programmed drums on this song, but I'm not totally sure. Didn't prince mention how much he admired stevie's drumming in his interview for modern drummer magazine and specifically mention watching stevie play drums in the sessions for this album?

where else does prince contribute to this album? or is that his only appearance? Does anyone know if Stevie's in line to return the favor on a future price album, that would be as well

It sounds like Stevie is channeling the same rhythm changes of Funkadelic's Not Just Knee Deep bassline.
