UK Band EMBRACE makes US debut... ...last night in Los Angeles at Spaceland. Having only heard a couple songs by this band, I was pleasantly surprised at their performance. The band was best described as a mix of Coldplay and The Verve, and I would say that's pretty accurate. (in fact, Chris Martin gave them a song which they performed tonight and he was rumored to be in the house since Coldplay is doing some accoustic gig here this weekend... I didn't see him, though ) The band exudes a self-effacing charm on stage which was at the heart of their charisma. Their songs are largely ballads, but they can also rock!
Can anyone in the UK give me more info about this band? Embrace plays at the Bowery Ball Room in NYC next week - for those of you on the east coast - you should try and catch them. VOTE....EARLY

They have been going a good few years now, they first got a little recognition over here in the wake of the post-Oasis boom in guitar music in the UK, which is now a good 10 years ago. They then sank without a trace, presumed split, and were dropped. The Chris Martin tune, Gravity, has been a tremendous success over here and has led to sold out shows. Could be the start of a good thing for them, or their last chance at cracking it, we'll see. I can take or leave them, myself, they have a couple of great tunes, too many power ballads, though, as Sexofit says

There is more passion and feeling in, for example, My Weakness Is None Of Your Business than in 99% of Oasis songs, or Beyonce tracks even.
