Put The Neptunes as the Jam/Lewis replacements. Then (and only then) will Janet's music career be save!!! wink

In that case...

Janet's Successful Music Career-1986-2002
RIP

It seriously isn't worth it. All the singles I've heard from Snoop have been getting better and better (I shockingly like his song with Justin, that punk ass traitor bitch!) but I don't think a Janet record would work. After all, how many times has recorded with them with no released results? On her last two questionable albums she didn't use their material? Hmmm....

Think about it:

The Neptunes are this young generation's Jam & Lewis!!!

Remember Britney's Slave 4 U? That was Britney's last real hit (Screw Toxic!). Produced by The Neptune (And yes, it sounds a lot like Prince).

If Janet would just keep her ego in check & let The Neptune produce the next album, she will be the Queen of Pop again. Trust Me! cool

The Neptunes? See,that's the main problem with today's R&B.Every artist works with the same producers! These days,a typical R&B album features songs produced by the likes of Jam and Lewis,R.Kelly,The Neptunes,Dr. Dre,Rodney Jerkins,Jermaine Dupri and Kanye West. There's no variety or uniqueness anymore. If Janet were to work with the Neptunes, her album would sound like everything else that they produced.

Janet (and other R&B artists) should take a different approach. How about working with an un-discovered producer...you know, someone who hasn't worked with everyone else yet? How about working with someone that actually has a new, edgy sound that doesn't sound like all the other crap on the airwaves? How about trying some new, innovative beats for a change?

Screw "Toxic". In America it charted a helluva lot higher on the charts (I think it was number one in the UK) and won Britney her only Grammy....and this was when she was a laughing stock! Not saying it's a better song, but it was one hit. "Boys" sucked adn tanked, so what do you say to that.

Also, "Slave" was in 2001...whatever they done with female pop stars lately...

You mean do a Kylie/Madonna and try a unknown producer outside of the America Box?

You're right. But will sorry excuses for Hip-Hop/R&B FM radio stations ever play it or take it seriously? Interesting!

BTW, why you don't like The Neptunes?

And have you ever listen to any of their own albums as the alter egos N.E.R.D.?

It's just my honest opinion. I don't find anything great about Toxic. And I'm not alone.

Remember this: Even Kylie rejected that song from ever appearing on the Body Language album. The lyrics & the sound itself (counting effects) just didn't make any sense.

Yes, Toxic was a surprise hit for Britney (and that great news by all means). But there is no way that anyone can tell me that Toxic is a better song than Slave 4 U.

Slave 4 U was funky because The Neptunes (as true Prince fans themselves) knew exactly how to be funky!

And that is exactly what Janet Jackson needs for the next album: something funky! And I think The Neptunes can help as well as new unknown producers that can play the new funk.

Lately, The Neptunes/N.E.R.D. had been producing higher musical stock value than Dr. Dre or Timberland. For yesterday news, they sure know how to keep making hits! cool

And another thing: Despite the fact that I respect Dr. Dre as one of my musical elders (along with Prince of course wink ), nothing sucks worse than 50 Cent & The G-Unit. rolleyes

The photo caption says it's her niece, Autumn. I don't know how true that is though.

Janet hit her peak creatively with 'The Velvet Rope'. That album is by far her best.

i think damita jo is way above all for you. i liked all for you when it came out and still enjoy it if i'm in the mood but i for the most part its rarely listened to. all for you, in my opinion, is too hit or miss. it starts out strong but i think it fades away with only moments of heat thereafter. for me, the problem with all for you is that there is no "mood" to the record. the dance tracks are good dance songs but there are so many slow songs - the kind of slow songs that i can't really groove too - that i often skip past half the record now when i do actually play it. the dance tracks on damita jo are hot. H-O-T! all nite is one of her best songs right along with rnb junkie. slolove, sexhibition, strawberry bounce, and just a little while are great, fun tracks. as far as i'm concerned, the only weak songs on the record are thinkin' bout my ex and truly, truly being the only one i just can't get into. the majority of the slower tracks on the record are really smooth grooves that don't bore me or cause me to lose interest; island life, spending time with you, i want you, moist - i love those songs!

i know i'm in the minority when it comes to this record and i'm always surprised by that. i have had a lot of friends hear this record and get interested enough in it to go out and buy it - some of these friends don't even own any previous janet cds. i can't help but toss the poor sales of this cd up to little promotion (in comparision to past janet promo campaigns), no video play, and no radio play due to the ridiculous after effects of the super bowl show. really, had all nite been the first single, followed by rb junkie or slolove, it would have been a much more successful record, even with the whole super bowl thing. whatever, i guess. at the end of the day i think janet made a pop record she can be proud of.

Yes...try an unknown producer outside of the America box! It would sound fresh, new and edgy. The Neptunes have already worked with dozens of other R&B artists.Do you seriously think they have anything new and fresh to offer to Janet? As for whether or not R&B/hip-hop stations will embrace it....they took a chance on Andre3000's 'The Love Below',a unique, edgy album that doesn't sound anything like the typical trash that pollutes the airwaves.
