BECK ROCKS LA 2/24/05 Just got home from a Beck concert in LA - a benefit for Tsunami relief. Cat Power opened - she was not to be heard accoustically in that place - not a good venue for her - but she sounded good from what I could hear.
Beck ROCKED THE HOUSE! Saw this in a small theater so it was the perfect setting to see this show. He did several cuts from "Guero" and it was awesome. He is bringing back the rock mixed with a bit of funk and some eletronic sounds. There was a guy in a jumpsuit doing interpretive dance center stage - hilarious! He pulled in a couple tunes from "Odelay" (Where It's At) and one from "Midnight Vultures" and he included only a couple ballads. Wish I knew the set list - but since it's mostly from the new CD, I'd be guessing. I feel so fortunate and was so impressed to see such a diverse nd talented artist artist in a small venue where you can appreciate very sound and every note - he literally is a genius. The crowd loved all the new music so I am guessing the new CD will be a hit. VOTE....EARLY | |
