I was about to post this! To me it sound like "Purple Rain" mixed with any song by that horrid group Jagged Edge. Surprisingly it's not the worst song he released in his carreer. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt. | |

Is this the song that rips off the melody of Jagged Edge's "Let's Get MArried"?
Brian has become such a fraud and lazy. His first album was great, second was nice-- but each year he just got lazier. In a Vibe article back around 97, he all but admitted he has a formula and he sticks with it to sell records. I understad song writers have a style, but c'mon. He stole Me'shell's song and it went to number one; on one cd-- Superhero-- I believe, he swiped the Linn drum beat to sound like Prince; now he's ripping off JE. | |

I know I shouldn't be this way, but I can't stand dude. I just don't like him. He's talented, he writes and plays; he has a good voice...but I don't like him. Something seems really phony about him. Most of his music bores me to tears and to be honest, I'm just not feeling anything he does - for no real reason. Yeah, I know its wrong but...that's how I feel about him. | |

a bit of kind sarcasm I'm with musicman "His first album was great, second was nice-- but each year he just got lazier." I actually think that Brian is pretty talented. Fear has a way of paralyzing some into these safe places. He's been playing it really safe. It takes all kinds. He seems to be one of those "safe" guys. Like if he weren't a musician he'd be an accountant or something along those lines. He doesn't annoy me as much as he does you guys...but it is annoying to see one with the potential to do so much more, doing so much less. It's not wrong at all. Brian is a fucking HACK. He started off great w/ the first album - decent/good songs, great voice, interesting... Then he fell into this adult contemporary, lazy ass, "safe to play in your cubicle" type shit. He's so fucking BORING! Doesn't use his voice for good, just shows up to do lazy renditions on award shows 
I read an interview once where he said he has a "formula" for making hit records... that he's "simplified it" b/c the audience can't handle challenging material  I guess that's true if all you care about is sales, charts & doing Christmas albums but I lost ALL respect I once had for him as an artist. He gave up years ago... so fuck him    I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it | |

Actually thats exactly what he banks on...he's the wedding singer that lucked up. His songs will always play at the weddings. You guys are so hard on him that I'm starting to feel a little empathy. Brian is talented,no doubt,but I find him to be really,really boring.He specializes in slow R&B/adult contemporary and I guess the ladies love him,but his music is a snoozefest imo.And why does he have to keep ripping off Prince? A few years ago,he came out with a song that was a blatant rip-off of "Adore" or "Scandalous"....same music,and he was singing in a Prince-like falsetto.I actually felt embarrassed for him when I heard this song. | |

Like, I wouldn't want to see him in concert or anything. I'm fine with the cds. I do love the quality of his voice however. As far as the personal thing...the way it's seeming that he's petty and sleazy and all those qualities that I REALLY dislike. This is the reason that I make a point to avoid the gossip...especially if I like an artist. It sucks when the personal life starts to discolor the art. True, when you hear so much of another artist in his work...it makes you wonder. Is this just that he honestly subconsciously picks up the artists he admires...or is it blatant.
