Laugh If You Want, But This Is a Great Album I really do think Breakfast in America is one of the great pop-rock recordings of all time. It spawned 4 hits on the Billboard pop chart - 3 of them top 20 - and is one of the best-selling albums worldwide. There's not a bad song on it, and The Logical Song, Goodbye Stranger (one of my top 20 pop tracks), Take the Long Way Home and the title track are classics. Though they weren't released as singles, Lord Is It Mine and Just Another Nervous Wreck are as good as any of the songs that were released from the album. Yeah, Roger Hodgson's voice is off-putting for some, but, for me, it works to The Logical Song's advantage. It's a meaningful song and seems especially significant when compared to the vacant pop that actually does make it to radio today. I've heard some anti-Supertramp sentiment here in the past, but I'd love to hear some love for this album. [Edited 2/20/05 15:45pm]

I also love the album cover. In fact, VC's thread about horrible album artwork is what made me think of this album.

One of the best albums of the late 70's " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

I don't have the album, but the 4 or 5 songs I DO know are classic! Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

No laughing here, Rip. One of my childhood albums that I still have and love. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
