I'm not a fan of her small shows. I like the band playing together. I don't care much for piano recitals.

It's funny. I got to know her when small concerts where the thing. I hated it when she started playing halls and stuff.

I think her stuff is best when kept small and intimate. Not that I do not like her band material... I love that too, but just her and a piano... wow.

i agree wholeheartedly! i saw her for little earthquaakes at this converted movie theater outside of philadelphia...what a great experience! it wasnt sold out, nobody would go with me (this was before she got big), i went alone and it was one of the most intimate shows i've ever experienced. i was left speechless.

when choirgirl came out and ol' girl was blown up, playing amphitheatres and arenas with a band...i don't know...the performances were great but that back and forth between audience and performer was sorely lacking. part of what makes her solo, small shows so cool is that she isn't at the mercy of the songs the band has rehearsed. someone in the audience can say something that sets her off on a spell and we get a totally different show because of it. her artistry as a performer really shines in these intimate settings!

bring it, tori...fuckin' bring it!

I was really into Tori in the early days... I have more of a passing interest in her these days to be honest.

I just remember feeling that songs like 'Tear in Your Hand' & 'Crucify' didn't grab me with just the piano... that's just my opinion though shrug

pout I wish I lived near you guys...

I'm not gonna go to the LA show... it's on a Monday and I just can't because of work. Monday and Tuesday are my busy days, by the end of Tuesday I'm WRECKED. I just can't comtemplate a trip to LA on a Monday night.

I'll have to wait for her Summer tour. I still gotta get her book... Tomorow is payday! woot!

Then Tuesday the cd comes out. dancing jig

There's something very powerful about someone who can pull off an entire show by themselves with no fancy lighting, no staging, no props and no other musicians. It's watching their talent and magic in its truest form. Think about Celebration Night 4.
