A bad album at first in my opinion.......revisited Cherelle's
"High Priority" 
This was an album I really only bought for "You Look Good To Me" and "Saturday Love" I wonly really listened 2 it one time a long time ago and just passed it on. I took it out again when making my "Jimmy & Terry" collection and finally just played Grand Theft Auto in peace while playing it. And I must say I was surprised. The hard demanding stomping "You Look Good To Me" to the polite and enjoyable pop of "Artificial Heart". The 80's fingersnappin'-while-u-shake yo head "New Love" with the chant at the end just makes me wanna get up dance 
Then it is followed by a song not written by J&T "Oh No It's U Again", which is something like a sequal to "I Didnt Mean To Turn You On". "Oh no its u again / I told u that we were friends / I dont need u screwin up my life" The lyrics are kinda tame but the music is still retro eighties enjoyable. Then the interlude follows as the classic "Saturday Love" comes on  Next to a wonderful slow jam (that is close to "Who's It Gonna Be" from her previous album) "Will U Satisfy" with its stop go beat and haunting melody close to what Jimmy & Terry were going to be making for Janet's slow jams that were to follow on Rhythm Nation.
Now I dont remember the last 2 tracks but they werent that much 2 talk about but it was very drum programmed and had tons of 80's tinge to it that makes it sound very dated, but enjoyable at the right time. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

affair would have been her best album if she had kept it short...the a side tracks and then a couple from the b side.. (oye, remember when albums had sides?) at anyrate...too many filler tunes ruined what i consider to be her most solid tunes... that entire a side was CLASSIC!! Space for sale... | |
