I really don't like the content of eminem's songs. IMO they are rude and vulgar. BUT judging him purely on lyrical skills, I have full respect for eminem. The way he uses words and word play to paint the picture he wants us to see is very clever. In terms of lyrical skills I think he is above alot rappers out there.

not that i condone what eminem says, but i believe he is singled out and made an example of...even common's 'like water for chocolate' includes some derogatory gay terms...a lot of hip-hop does..not that it's right, but the media just singles out one artist...and it hardly seems fair that 'gay bashing' is accepted pretty much across the board in a musical genre, until eminem uses the term 'faggot...' ..at this years grammy's a song called 'i've got ho's in different area codes' actually won a 'best rap' grammy...where were all the feminist groups then? the difference? it's not eminem, so nobody cares... ..i will also venture to say that a lot of people who are anti-eminem have never even listened to an album of his...his talent is undeniable and if anything his over-the-top lyrics set an example of how people should not be...he would be, and has been, the first to admit that... ..another thing i find interesting is that on tori amos 'strange little girls' she covers an eminem song...the one about killing his wife and throwing her in the lake..and many of the same people who were protesting eminem's lyrical content believe tori amos is brilliant...and apparently it's fine for her to say it, just not him... oh rio. Thank God for you. I couldnt have said it better myself. Folx...imho....Eminem kicks ass. And he didnt ATTACK Prince. He simply made a time reference.
