Any fans of Todd Rundgren ? I've listened to Hermit of Mink Hollow and Something/Anything? and I must say I'm pretty impressed and am interested in hearing more. He's one of the most impressive one man bands I've ever heard and he has an interestingly diverse series of influences: brian wilson, the beatles, hendrix, carole king. I've been meaning to get A wizard, a true star, which I hear is his best.

i went through a big todd rundgren fascination last year, but i didn't get too much farther than his hits and soul-ballad-y sounding stuff. my mom's a big todd fan, so i'm familiar with a lot of his stuff, especially with utopia - but i can't say i paid a great amount of attention to it when i was a young'un. it's just kinda "familiar".

I have Something/Anything, A Wizard a True Star and a nicely compiled best-of...I like all of them, but I've never liked them quite enough to pursue his music any further.
Also, legend has it that he has an absolutely enormous penis.

Liars, which came out last year, is as good as his classics. Well worth checking out. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

Big Rundgren Fan over here, But I think those two, Hermit of Mink Hollow and Something/Anything are his masterpieces...I also love Nearly Human(The song, Hawking is my Favorite Todd Rundgren song), the A Capella album (for Johnee Jingo, Pretending To Care, Lost Horizon, and Howja), Healing (the songs, Time Heals and Tiny Demons are classics!), Faithful, for all of Side Two), and Runt:The Ballad of Todd Rundgren, which is also essential listening, IMO!

Really? You think so? I thought it was certainly his best since "A Cappella", but up par with his classics? Nevertheless it was surprisingly good, considering what kind of dross he had recorded for the last two decades. And for the original poster: "A Wizard, A True Star" is an amazing record, essential listening especially when being ill and staying in bed. Once you get your head messed up with that one it's time to put on "Healing" after that. There's definitely something "healing" about "Healing". Recorders never sounded so sweet. So antibiotic. Only Todd Rundgren is a genius enough to get a wind instrument sound like an antibiotic.

'Any fans of Todd Rundgren ?'
Todd's one of my all time favorite Artist's. He's an Icon of American music, who doesn't get the props He surely deserves. Super talented hyper-intelligent multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer, and with a career spanning over 30 years His music is not to be missed. If you haven't got this in your music collection go get it now! ~PClinuxOS~ I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ...

I love Todd Rundgren! Of course, Hello, It's Me is a fave (though The Isley Brothers' version gives his a run for the money), but I also really dig Boat on the Charles, Want of a Nail and especially A Dream Goes on Forever

Big influence on me as a musician. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
