I love it when things like this happen. Years ago there was a tv-series called 'so weird' I thought the theme was quite good so I downloaded most of the series soundtrack back then. Today I found the cd I burnt back then and gave it another listen. Most songs are sung by one of the actresses on the show: named Makenzie philips. I think it's a big loss to the music world in general that she never recorded an album, cause her voice is incredible. and the emotion she puts in these songs...just send shivers down my spine. It's sad that all there is, are some songs recorded from the tv, with monologues from the show inbetween them. Anyone know what happend to her?

All I know is that she was really addicted to heroin for many years. I think she's clean now though.

mackenzie phillips is the daughter of papa john phillips from the mamas and the papas - she was on a show called 'one day at a time' in the '70s, as a teenaged daughter of a single mother. she had a lot of drug problems around that time and had to leave the show, and she wasn't really heard from till that 'so weird' show came out. i think she had an autobiography published a couple years ago.

She was a member of the New Mama's and Papa's. She was taken to task by Michelle Phillips for not forging her own career.
