No. I think he should have his day in the sun.
While I'm not much of a fan if his, he's been in the business for a long time. And I like the fact that he is finally getting recognition for his serious acting talent and musicianship instead of playing the buffoon comedian all the time.

Absolutely not.

Matter of fact, I would like to see him in more movies. Now, I hope he doesn't come out with another album, because his voice is mediocre.

Denzel and Halle, yeah, there was a point when I got sick of them, but Jamie Foxx's star is on the raise.

I've never sampled this Haterade that you and BeautifulOne are so fond of. I liked him in both Ray and Collateral. I just can't turn on the TV without seeing him. Just need a break from the dude. If it were actually him doing the singing in Ray, I woulda loved him performing on the Grammys, but the fact is it wasn't, and I don't care for Jaime's music at all.

I agree, he is a funny/talented actor, but did anyone really give a rats ass about him singing before Ray??

Talking about biopics, anyone know if Janet is still going to try and make a biopic on Lena Horne, even after SuperBoob. Will Madonna do anohter verison of "Frida"....

Jamie Foxx is great but it's every damn award show that we have to suffer him and Kayne West gladly. I don't think Jamie is a bad guy and I have yet to see "Ray" (I would rent "Collateral" but Tom Cruise just gets on my damn nerves) but I like him in the stuff I've seen him in is usually good. If anything they are doing him a disservice and setting him up for failure. Calm down on the Jamie Foxx of there will be a backlash. With Kayne West, it mostly bravado and arrogance with not enough talent to back it up. He's threatening to throw a hissy fit if he didn't win an award again? If it were anyone else, I would have thought they were being funny but he just comes off as a jerk.

yes! i've never really liked him as an actor or comedian (or singer, for that matter), but i could tolerate looking at his cross-eyed, buck-toothed mug every once in a while when he had some mid-range movie coming out.

but the media saturation of him the last 6 months is really getting on my nerves. especially now that we have to put up with "serious actor" Jamie Foxx all the time now. and you're NOT Ray Charles, by the way. yeah, he did a good job playing Ray. but he either thinks he's becoming Ray, or he's lobbying really, really hard for that Oscar in case some of the voters didn't see Ray, he's going to give them a little on TV. either way, it's getting creepy as hell. sick of him, though i was never a fan to begin with.

I'm proud of Jamie and his transformation from "Wanda" to "Booty Call" to "Any Given Sunday" to "Collateral" and "Ray". I especially like the fact that he came in under the radar, doing smaller roles that mean more than dumbass lead roles (i.e. Martin Lawrence...not the Martin could be a dramatic actor, but u get my meaning). He then comes from out of virtually nowhere (though of course he didn't) and puts in some stellar performances.

Plus, I like the fact that he's humble about his new success and damnit, dare i say it -- still "keeps it real". He knows that it took him a lot of hard work to get to his 2 oscar nominations.

I just hope that if he does get an Oscar, he doesn't do a "Halle" and play bad roles just to make $$$ and make people wonder why he got an Oscar anyway.

Halle probably just takes what she can get, honestly. And she's the only black woman getting consistent A-list exposure from the industry. So even she can't command the best. An Oscar isn't a guarantee of better work. That's why I won't even bother answering whether I'm sick of Jamie Foxx. He'll probably be relegated to crappier movies and a lower profile in no time. When you're black, that likelyhood goes up a few points.

I thought the reason she was ousted from Lena's biopic before was because Horne herself booted her and didn't want Janet to have anything to do with the picture due to "Nipplegate". So, I'm thinking Janet's moved on from the possibility of any type of Lena Horne project.

And to answer this thread's specific question, hell no am I tired of Jamie Foxx. As others have mentioned, here's a cat who went from doing Wanda (anyone else remember the first time he sang, which was on a Christmas episode of In Living Color and he belted out "This Christmas" as the credits rolled?) & dumb comedy movie roles like in "Booty Call" or "Held Up" to getting meaty dramatic pieces thrown his way (and being absolutely STUNNING as Ray Charles). He's a GREAT, all-around talent, and it's fantastic to see him finally get his day in the sun. His appearance on "Inside The Actors Studio" this past November was funny & moving as well. It almost brought me to tears seeing him choke up because 10 days prior to that taping his grandmother passed. He's definitely trying to keep the manners and common sense his elders taught him dear to his heart, and that's just terrific to see. I just hope all of this hype culminates in about 12 more days with the Best Actor trophy for Ray (either him or Don Cheadle).

All women..intersting! They tend to get negative media attention and their projects are slammed most of the time (Jessica really isn't attacked for her work, just kind of accepted but seen as someone with special needs..). With Jamie, it's different. It's just overhype, the next big thing...the second coming! I don't think he's a bad guy and I'm sure he's talented but this kind of overhype can only be bad for him.

BTW....Jamie's next movie is suppodedly "Miami Vice" with Colin Farrel...so much for expectations!

perhaps those of you who are sick of him need to turn of the television for a bit. eek
