after a decade plus of payin dues,i think jamie really deserves this. and if u read his interview in gq he's not takin this to his head 'cause he's puttin this all this grip he's gettin to his daughter, uncle, and nieces.... and as 4 his music i'd say anyone who can hold their own in a jam session with an icon like ray charles and have him tell you himself that "you got it"...

While he's been around for a long time he's just begun to get this sort of exposure. It's also the media who choose to keep showing the same people over and over again. At least it's on someone who actually does something constructive and isn't covered just because their rich or married to a celebrity i.e., Paris H. and Kevin F.

I do think he should enjoy his success. It's his moment, live it up! I thought he was brilliant in "Ray" and should win the Oscar and would absolutely deserve it.

I found his Grammy per4mance 2 b in VERY poor taste. Honor the man if U want, do not walk over his memory 2 campaign 4 your Oscar.

Actually yeah, the people who bought the album he put out a few years back. It didn't sell well but then again it wasn't marketed well and he was still known for being a comedian not a singer or musician. Most who'd heard he put out an album back then probably thought it would be like those Eddie Murphy attempts at singing.
