Bee Gees - "Heartbreaker" Has anyone heard their version of the popular Dionne Warwick early 80's hit?!
It's fucking awesome!! Dare I say their version is equally as good?? Not too surprising considering they wrote the tune and knew which arrangement would suit them best. I can't get enough of it. These guys are geniuses....I'm totally loving their For The Record - The Greatest Hits (2 CD) collection. A wonderful gem. Get it. Thoughts?

I do love that set! I haven't listened to that song in a long time, though. Maybe I'll give it a spin tonight

"Heartbreaker" is one of my all-time favorite songs. Can you believe that Dionne Warwick hated this song at first and had to be talked into recording it?LOL.It turned out to be one of her biggest hits. The Bee Gees have a real knack for strong melodies and lyrics...
"Why do you have to be a heartbreaker? is it a lesson that I never knew? I've gotta get out of this spell that I'm under My love for you Why do you have to be a heartbreaker? when I was being what you want me to be Suddenly, everything I ever wanted has passed me by This world may end...not you and I"

I was also listening to their version of "Islands In The Sun" last night (originally performed by Dolly Parton/Kenny Rogers and later sampled by Pras on "Ghetto Superstar"). I really loved their interpretationas well - they even snuck in a few lines of "Ghetto Superstar" for fun.
These guys are true geniuses of song.

I love that collection they put out, but I love it for the Bee Gees classics.
To be honest, I prefer the "original" versions that they wrote for these artists: Heartbreaker-Dionne Warwick Immortality-Celine Dion Islands in the stream-Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton Emotion-Samantha Sang
