"I'm In Love" by Aretha Franklin (1974)

"It's Impossible' by the New Birth (1971)

"Backstabbers" by the OJays (1972)

"So Very Hard To Go" by Tower Of Power (1972)---this song reminds me of my father teaching me how to swim...lol...it must have been on the radio by the pool.

"Want Ads" by the Honey Cone (1971)

funny childhood memory...

It was 1973 and our neighbor had Stevie Wonder's 'Innervisions' album.I was actually scared of the song "Livin For The City"! It sounded really haunting to me...something about those synths and overall mood of it.I used to call it "the spooky song",lol.

some song by "D Train" my mom use 2 have the 12" of.

"Wishing Well" Tarence Trent D'Arby
my mom would always play that for me.

"When Doves Cry"
for me and "17 Days" for my brother (12")

"Cool It Now" - and the whole 'New Edition' album

The whole 'Control' album

Ready For The World

Skeletons - Stevie Wonder

My mom gave me my own record player when I was like 5 years old. It was a cute little suitcase. She let me play her "I Want Her" 12" by Keith Sweat on it for the first time.

I remember these albums being played while my mom was cleaning and we were playing around the living room.

I'm just gonna list stuff that I heard prior to making my own choices in music. The music I remember my mom and dad listening to a lot:

Jolene - Dolly Parton
Delta Dawn - Tanya Tucker
Yesterday Once More - The Carpenters
Weekend in New England - Barry Manilow
Jesus Christ Superstar Soundtrack
