HELP!!!! Extracting Music Files

Can anyone help with a good program that will allow extracting selected music files from original CD's to be placed on a new compilation disc? I used to have Create CD which was so easy but the new version is terrible and won't allow extraction. I currently have Nero and it just messaged that my trial has run out and it will cost me $69.99 for an upgrade. Before I spend that kind of money, I wondered what some of you use and what works best. Thanks!

Are you looking for a program to rip .wav or .mp3 files from CD or to burn CD's?

Good question!

I've been using music match (free edition and Nero), and now they want payment of one sort or another.

What is the best software to rip a CD that is

a. Free

or

b. Not free, but worth paying for?

If your after a freeware :
http://www.mgshareware.co...main.shtml

FreeRip is a freeware application that lets you save audio CD tracks to Wav or MP3 or Ogg Vorbis audio files. FreeRIP is also an audio file converter since it can convert and encode Wav files to Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) or MP3 (.mp3), and back.

FreeRIP is a CD ripper, this means that it can record digital audio tracks directly from audio CD to files on your hard drive (this process is known as "ripping"). You can save tracks as CD quality WAV files or encode them to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 compressed audio format.

I've used it in the past and found it was o.k.
~PClinuxOS~ yes I've been here longer than I care to remember, ... I drop in from time to time, ... thumbs up!
