So my uncle played a few songs buy Betty Davis for me
the other day and what can I say? I'm hooked! Shes so fonkay
Im wondering if anybody here is a fan and if you can suggest which
album I should look for next time I go music shopping

I'm leaning towards buying

I also have her 4th cd which sounds much different to her first 3 albums. Apparently they tried to market her as a disco act so the songs are weak but i'll collect anything by her since there's not much out there. It has one good song on it called "the quintessence of hip" on it. The rest of the album is pretty dissapointing.

I have a feeling its gonna be hard to find her stuff at my favorite local
"hole in the wall" shops, cause a lot of folks have never even heard of her

Yes, I also heard Grace Jones is touring this year...That's a I believe it when I see it...You never know with Grace.

There is a current article on Betty Davis in MOJO magazine, the Feb 2005 issue with Sid Vicious on the cover go and get it, it's got some cool pics of Betty in there. Some new facts that you's probably didn't know...she also dispells a few of the legendary rumors about her.

As far as trading there is always something...It is difficult in the respect that if it isn't in EX quality I can't be bothered, otherwise I would never watch it again.

so i finally got my copy of mojo with the article on betty davis. first of all i was so happy to see her featured in a magazine as she never gets her props. i just wished there were some current pictures of her today. the article was both informative but also depressing. i find it disturbing that someone so talented and innovative is just living hand to mouth and spends her days watching soap operas. anyway, i'm happy that she's alive and well. just wish she would continue to make music.

I think we all wouldl like for Betty to keep making the FUNK for us all but what people often overlook or forget. Betty is like 60 years old now...C'mon y'all you gotta be realistic...

First of all..George Clinton has a supprt system he can fall back on...The PFunk family is huge and when he hits his rough spots he has that support. Betty on the other hand doesn't have that support unfortunately. I would personally like to remember her as she was..Not as someone's granny trying to be sexy. Sometimes the flame is better put out than to flicker out...No, I don't enjoy watching a fat and old George drapped in a bedsheet stumbling across the stage forgetting the words...That NOT FUNK to me...I'll keep my earlier memories of him, thank you very much. As a matter of fact he's playing tonight in Hollywood at the Henry Ford Theatre...
