Who was/is the most talented member of P-funk My pick's Bootsy. Great bass player who also played guitar and drums at various times for parliament, unbelievably goofie humor, personna and voice and he co-wrote tons of the material.

As a keyboardist, Bernie Worrell was a tremendous influence on me when I was growing up. I grew up in Cincinnati, so Bootsy was a prominent part of local culture. Bernie Worrell would be my answer.
That said, the P-Funk nucleus was George, Bootsy and Bernie IMO.

After thinking about it ... I would say George... because it was his vision ,and he assembled all of the elements together to create a unique "thang"....
....at the end of the day tho...Bootsy and Bernie are the foundation... "...all you need ...is justa touch...of mojo hand....."

Tough call since all were talented. But I think the mothership never flew as high after the loss of Glen Goins. Bernie is quoted as saying he would be the top male R&B vocalist today had he lived. Listening to him call down the mothership was magical.
