Band Name: "!!!" (not pronounceable)
Okay so these guys have been around for a few years, but they're new to me. That's what I get for being 33.

The sound: Standout tracks resemble album cuts like Let's Work & Something In the Water (Does Not Compute). If you miss Prince's Chicken Grease guitar riffs from the Controversy or 1999 era, but don't want to feel somebody is being "ironic" by referencing it, these guys are for you. This isn't exploitation, it's their sound.

Song:"Hello, Is This Thing On?"
7+ minutes of fun. Lots of high-hat, synth flourishes and of course, Chicken Grease. The end trails of sounding like pure tribute to the end of "Something In The Water (Does Not Compute)".

Song:"Me And Giuliani Down By ...choolyard"
Lots of Chicken Grease on this 9 minute band jam cut. Very danceable, and fun.

Song: "Pardon My Freedom"
One line references Diana Ross' "Dangerous" and then goes on to say: "You can tell our President, suck my f*cking d*ick...They'll All F*cking pay...Karma's the fact that sh*t'll come back some day". Protesting the current political climate never sounded so funky. It's mad as hell, campy, funky, obscure, irreverant and a fun jam.

The album is called Louden Up Now. It's definitely my favorite of 2004. The sounds and arrangements have everything I would hope to hear in a modern Prince record. I hardly ever advocate for anything, but BUY IT.
