That's the one I was thinking of...sort of. There was another very similar to this. A very beautiful picture of the man in this music magazine I had from last year. I had never seen it before and I was going to scan it, and now I can't find it. sad

Man, how often did Jimi get photographed? If you think about it, he was only around in the limelight from 1967-1970--just 4 years, yet as long as I've been checkin' Jimi out (more than 25 years now, lol!) I always see a new batch of photos that I've never seen before....was he on camera 24 hours a day? did they even photograph him while he slept? Jeez, no wonder the man was tired...

Anyone know whether Jimi's Behind the Music is available on video?

Not that i've seen.

But this one is...

...Electric Ladyland from the VH-1 Classic Albums series.

Not a bunch of personal b.s.
Just Eddie Kramer (and others that played on the record) discussing how it was made.

Yeah, I have that one as well. I've been collecting posters of Jimi ever since I was around 9 or 10 years old. I have so many. Plus, I have some that people have given me. It 's such an obvious birthday gift, I guess. I have some great ones from Holland and Germany.

When you add up all the prep and setup time in addition to the actual show, it's even longer than that! disbelief

I think it's like Linda McCartney {who photographed Jimi quite a bit} once said
that Jimi was very photogenic and people just couldn't take their eyes off of him. Hendrix had such a strong aura that I think people felt it was their duty to take pics of him. Like they HAD to, it was that strong. That's why I think there are so many of Jimi, GOD bless him.

Yeah, personally, I've always dug Jimi circa 1966 { England, before he came back to the States} and 1967. I like 68-70 as well, but my fave period is the fucked up conked, ruffles, army coat period. Can't beat that shit. Funny, Jimi went through 4 different stages in such a short period of time. 66 and 67, he looks like he's 19 or 20, with the pimples and the whole 9. Late 67, early 68, prosperity shined on him like an Indian Pimp with the feathered hats. He looks his most happy during this period. Mid 68, early 69, stardom, too many women and harder drugs is kicking his ass and it shows. Jimi easily looks in his early 40's and then in 70, he rebounded and looked more youthful but wise. He had bounce in his step and that gleam in his eye again. Looking to the future...
Damn.
