Does anyone still buy cd singles? Is it still worth buying them? I only get them once or twice a year if I really like a song by an artist I don't usually listen to. I'm thiking of buying "soldier" by Destination's Children. That song rocks but I heard the rest of the album is pants.

I would but they're hardly available.

Nope, I never buy them. I think they're a waste of money. Download the song if you can.

I still buy 12" singles. I love a good remix. I'll only buy CD singles if there are extra tracks on it.

i think the last CD singles i bought were the ones !!! released in support of "louden up now"...they were pretty good - extended remixes w/ a new b-side song, kinda like prince's singles back in the day.

I use to buy CD singles especially if there were some good mixes or bonus tracks but now they're hard to find and an instrumental or radio edit will not suffice. Having heard the whole album I don't think a purchase is worth that one song. I second the download. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

is the album really bad? i've heard it's pretty slow and just generic r&b.

I used to buy CD singles, maxi-singles, 12" records, 7" singles, etc. They're pretty much a thing of the past these days since they aren't a good source of income for performers anymore or even a reliable way to get their music heard. It's barely an album-driven market as is.

Yeah, gone are the days when I could walk into Tower and get the 12" of any song I wanted. Now I usually end up going to multiple indie store in search of promo 12" singles. The last two I bought were The Killers' "Somebody Told Me" 12" (really good remixes and actually a commercial release!) and Marilyn Manson's "Personal Jesus" promo 12" (Felix da Housecat did that one).

I had it on file but deleted it because after one go round I never listened to it and it was just taking up space. If I can get it again I'll let you know. I usually stick with iTunes in those cases.
Much cheaper. | |

There are a couple of artists from whom i have to have everything,
other than that, if I like one particular song but not the whole album, if there's a B-side that's not released on another format. I buy a lot from second hand stores though, but that doesn't really count, does it? greetz Kev1n It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

They seem to be harder to find than they were 10-15 years ago.

Mostly just for collector b-sides, and mostly older, OOP stuff. It's been years and years since I bought a single from an artist I didn't already like. When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.
