I found a compilation of various televised performances on Ebay. The quality wasn't terribly great though considering it was recorded from tv in the 70s but it was worth it and was quite enjoyable for a sly freak like me.

Thanks I saw a couple of dvds on ebay but I'm trying hard to restrain myself from spending any more money there, and they're not exactly cheap.

Don't forget about the Woodstock footage, although it's not nearly long enough

This guy was selling copies of practically every Sly & The Family Stone footage known to man on a VHS a couple of years ago. The quality is not that great, but it was worth seeing him and the band in their hayday. It's got their performances from Woodstock, Dick Cavett (sp?) Show, Soul Train, Midnight Music Special, Tom Jones Show and a host of others. In many of them you got to see Sly being interviewed high as a kite, but it was all good 'cause we all know that's just how the brotha used to roll. lol

I'm gonna have to get up on that. hmmm

I visited a COGIC church two Sundays ago and during the praise and worship they had this one song that they extended for about 30 minutes straight and a breakdown of just the drums and tambourines for about 10 minutes non-stop. I was just like omg The beat was so captivating you could tell the spirit was all up and through there!!!! falloff

Epic and Legacy are thrilled to begin work on the Sly & The Family Stone catalog. This extensive project kicks off with the release of The Essential Sly & The Family Stone on March 11, 2003

So what next? Will there ever be an official Sly dvd?

Also, is the there a live sly stone album? On Allmusic it lists in their discogarphy section an album called Live at Fillmore East 1968 but I can't find any info on it.
And on ebay there's a live Woodstock cd but I don't know if it's official.

I know a place where you can order 'Soul Train' videos from the 70s.There are ten volumes available (on VHS),but the episode with Sly and The Family Stone (from a 1974 appearance) is on Volume 7.It shows him performing 4 songs...

"Thank You (Falletinmebemyselfagain)"
"I Want To Take You Higher"---(Sly goes out into the crowd and dances with the audience!)
"Dance To The Music"
"If You Want Me To Stay"

Go here to order...
