"Out Of Sight" Was the First ... "Out of Sight" by James Brown from his unreleased LP of the same name (would be released 4 years later) was , in my opinion, the first FUNK record by JB or any artist. Some sights claim that "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" was the first FUNK record, but I don't agree. What do yall think. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Yeah This is the first funk tune, but wasn't the actual song written by Ted Wright? (The writing credits on a lot of James' songs seems to change over time)

James was having contract issues w/ KING records at the time and he had to use another name..... From what I read, he's the songwriter..... GOOD GAWD!!!! HEY!!!! LOOK A HEAR!!!!

AAAAAH that explains a lot. like why the old version of "I got you" is written by Ted Wright and the new version is by James Brown. Did he use any other pseudonyms?
