John Lennon's best vocal performance

So I was listening to "A Day in the Life" today, and I thought that really, this has to be John's best vocals. He just sounds so dreamy, and perfect for the song. Kinda cool and distant..

But he's had some other great vocals... like the throat-wrenching "Cold Turkey". Or, "Jealous Guy".

Lennon/Beatles fans - what are your favorite Lennon vocal performances?

Sexy Sadie is his best song imo, thus, his best vocal imo( I agree with A Day in the Life too though...awesome vocal track).

I also like his pipes on You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, In My Life, Instant Karma, Strawberry Fields, Rain, Julia, Watching The Wheels, I Am The Walrus...well I could go on...I'll stop now.

Whenever I play A Day In a Life I always think to myself this has got to be the greatest song of all time. Pure genius.

As for Lennon's best vocal performance...not sure but I really like Well, Well, Well and God.

I'll second God - the finest singing by anyone ever captured on record IMO. I also think very highly of Julia.

I'm a fan of the production on his voice. "Across The Universe" sounds similar, vocal production-wise.

RAIN will always be my favorite Beatles song and performance by John. He just sounds so free in that song.

And though it sounds very simple, he does some pretty nuanced little things with his voice in ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, as I recall.
Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ
πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

its a hit or miss..

i didnt think so when i heard it for a few years.. now i respect it in its entirety... just like the McCartney album

(imo) if u were take down the entire Ram album in a symphany/orchest fashion.. it would be a masterpiece.. musically he was on top of his game..
