What should be the 3rd single from L.A.M.B?

I personally think it should be "luxurious" or "seious" but I bet it will be "cool" because the song is about her relationship with Tony Kanal. A topic she seems to love singing about and it brought her and the band lots of success many moon ago, so I bet they'll stick with the same formula.

I've read that it's going to be Hollaback Girl, but she's re-recording it and calling it 'Hella Bad Girl'. whofarted

Anyway, I think it's a terrible decision for a single.

It should be COOL or SERIOUS - those are both very radio friendly.

FYI - RICH GIRL is at #52 on billboard top 100 singles - that's it's peak to date....not too good for Gwen, eh?

It climbed this week the whole way up to 28. Might just become a big hit.

you're right, that's not too hot but maybe the 3rd single will do better.

It should be a ballad. Either "Cool" or "The Real Thing." The former is more radio-friendly. Overall, I say "Cool." I can see that being a hit.

Her summer song should be "bUbbLE *pOp* Electric" or "Hollaback Girl."

i agree that it's got a good idea to have holla back girl, as the 3rd single. i personally like the song but it might be a little to avant garde for pop radio. a lot people wouldn't really get it and changing it to hella bad girl is just plain dumb!

Well, it's still early, but the response has been great. I know when that track comes on in the clubs out here in L.A. everybody starts screaming, so I *KNOW* it's going to be a big hit.

The LA club scene is awful (considering what a big market we are). I don't put any faith in what our club dwellers think.

The club scene is awful NATIONWIDE. Clubs haven't been the same since the early '90s in LA, NYC, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco -- even in Toronto.

This is another topic, though.

That would be a great song to close the album. Don't think it would impact the charts though -- heady messages about sociopolitical issues haven't seemed to be vogue lately.

The last sociopolitical-pop hit I can remember was Janet's "Rhythm Nation" over 15 years ago.

LA sucked even during the early 90s... biggrin

but yeah, things have changed in the late night scene..... "clubbing" became a word and everyone and their mother (some times literally) started going out...then people started acting a fool and disturbing the nearby neighborhood....then the police found out that drug trafficing was pretty easy at clubs....then the politicians started making it harder and harder to run a club so places started closing down..

now only a few are left and most places are small dives

The club scene does seem to be pretty bad everywhere, which is a shame because just a few short years ago in my neck of the woods it was quite fun.

Another thing about my local scene is that it's quite dangerous as well, particularily any club that specializes in hip-hop I'm sad to say. There's always shootings and stabbings and regular visits from the police. I don't frequent hip-hop clubs and that's a good thing, they don't last long.

Well, I'm only 22, so I don't have the advantage of age like you to counter that assessment.

My city's club scene could be more CRUNK (apologies to all those who hate that term), but it is what it is. It's a nationwide problem. To tell you the truth, I don't think people "club" anymore. Yeah, we all go out and dance or whatever, but we don't "live for it" like back in the days of discos and breakdance crews and s**t like that. "Living for the ultimate night out at the club" is pretty much a thing of the past.

Maybe it's better in Europe? I thought London's club scene was off the hook from all the pictures I've seen in import magazines, but quite a few Londoners I ran across were like, "what fantasy are you living in?"

Bubble Pop Electric

if she can get Andre and the video, and he makes sure it doesn't suck as bad as the first two, it'll be a hit

I agree that it's more summery, but she needs a hit fast or the album won't be around that long...shame.

"Serious"

It's a pretty good `80s sounding record, which is a better indicator of the album, plus became the most addictive for me, only second to "What You Waiting For".
