I only have 3 Frank Zappa albums and therefore don't know too much about him...

I've heard music critics detested some of his stage anctics...can someone tell me what these involved?

And what sort of live performer was he?

he simulated sex with an inflatable poodle a few times. that's about the extent of it.

He was also one of the first artists ever to perform to backing tapes on stage. At times some of the band members even drifted off-stage for a smoke.
