Info on Madonna Project 05

taken from DrownedMadonna.com

Madonna discusses her relationship with her father in the song “Haunted”. The track which is a string sweeping ballad mixed with a slight Moroccan percussion. The tracks lyrics address her perception of her father while she was a child and now. It is almost as if the track Mother and Father from American Life was simply a jumping point for Madonna’s theme of speaking about her father. Some of the lyrics are:

“And I’m haunted/by the visions in the grieving room/daddies working hard/never saw the clouded doom/eclipsing his broken heart”

The song “If You Were Here” is a hard bass driven dance track unlike anything Madge has recorded. The track is very techno acid but with a trip hop twist.

“If you were here/everything would be much easier/If you were here/Damn I’d be happier/If you/If you/If you were here”

Again mind you lyrics and songs are subject to change and these are only rumored info, nothing official has been said about them.

NOPE

Don't Tell Me, Nothing Fails, Justify My Love, Ray of Light, Open Your Heart and Papa Don't Preach are the only songs off hand where she gets writing credit for little to no work.

The rest of the songs that say written by Madonna the lyrics are written by Madonna and sometimes they are changed to fit the melody of the song.

What the hell ? She has writting credits on almost every song she's recorded. How do you know it's "little to no work", you were in the studio ?

I think everyone was hoping "Mother And Father" was going to be her final song on the subject. neutral
What else is there to say after "My father had to go to work / I used to think he was a jerk"

sigh

while I love some of the serious M, I've had enough for a while. I was REALLY hoping her next CD would be just a good ol' fun dance affair. I'm starting to think she's unfortunately moved beyond that material, though.

Too bad the killer "I got to give it up...." hook wasn't used on a track with more interesting lyrics.

eek

I remember reading about how he was suppose to have produced the "EVITA" soundtrack, but plans fell through because of schedules. shrug Apparently the Estefans are good friends of Madonna. So I've read over the years. God I need a life. lol

Don't Tell Me was a song by Joe Henry called "Stop"
Nothing Fails was written for and by and artist named Jem. Madonna heard a demo of it and wanted to work with it
Justify My Love was written by Lenny Kravitz and Ingrid Chavez and intended for Paula Abdul who turned it down. Than Madonna added a few lyrics.
Ray of Light lifted most of a song called Zephyr.
Open Your Heart was written for Donna Delory before Madonna took it and added a few lyrics
Papa Don't Preach was given to Madonna and she changed a few lyrics to add her personal touch

DavidEye

so let's compile a list of the rumored songs so far...

"In An Instant"
"You're The One" (working title, but it will soon be changed)
"Goddess"
"I Love New York"
"Haunted"
"If You Were Here"

I wouldn't be surprised if only one of those titles is the real deal...lol...we're gonna see many fake tracklists in the coming months.

I think all artist have a topic they dwell on too much.

Bono has written a few songs about his Mother who died too

Well the lyrics to Erotic are far worse, even though that particular lyric is included.

Surprising. Thanks. Does Donna Delory even have a credit for "Open Your Heart"?
