Like a Prayer remaster: March 05

Warner Music Group is planning to re-release Madonna's 1989 album "Like A Prayer" in early 05 (March). The newly remastered CD should include bonus remix tracks (Like A Prayer - Shep Pettibone remix, Express Yourself - Stop and Go remix, Keep it Together remix). If the project gets a green light from Madonna herself, it will be released towards the end of March.

As far as her remix album is concerned, the CD is tentively put on the back burner. It was to be titled "American Dream" but it's not certain if it will be released commercially.

In January Madonna will resume work on her documentary whose working title has changed to "Nobody Knows Me", but probably it shall change again.

Bout fucking time. A remaster itself is nice. They won't give it the 2-disc deluxe edition treatment it deserves, though. I think it will be the same as the other remasters - 2 or 3 remixes you'd already have if you bought the maxis from that era tacked on at the end.

Yeah it would be cool if it were a deluxe edition with outtakes, live recordings and b-sides, but i hate remixes.

Although I do like the 12" extended version of Like a Prayer with Prince on guitar. They should definitely include that.

But they didn't even include Into The Groove on the remastered Like a Virgin.

And The First Album lost it's original artwork, what was that all about?

The black and white photo on the cover? My LP and CD version have the colour photo, I just assumed that was the original artwork.

The B&W photo of Madonna praying was on the promo 12'' of the LAP single. The cover of LAP album has always been the one you see on the CD today (minus the "This is a digital recording" shit).

I know, I was referring to The First Album. In the UK there's a black and white cover of her holding a necklace or something.

Yeah. I guess they reverted to the original US artwork for the UK remaster though. I thought they just changed it coz I didn't know that the b/w cover was the orginal in the US.

Ehuffnsd clarrified it for me.

I refuse to even consider this a possibility. This has been rumored for SO long (I remember hearing most about it around the time of Bedtime Story), and all we've gotten is the remix EP from American Life. As much as I like her music, she's absolutely terrible at giving her fans what they want. She's very stingy with the releases.

You know that's what we all want be keep in mind it says "should include". Hopefully they'll wise up and put "Supernatural" on there, along with doing this for future albums.

It so deserves a Deluxe Edition treatment. These new album with some remixes just aren't worth it. The only one I bought last time out was "True Blue". If it only includes remixes, I'm going to have to think twice about getting it.

LAP sound sucks so it's worth it for the remaster, believe me.

I was always thought that artwork was cooler and meant to buy it when I say it Europe. I should have. I think it's also called "The First Album" there, right?

I agree with that statement. We're still waiting for a certain DVD with Madonna from a 1990 tour...she was doing some of her biggest hits of the eighties...kind of in her prime...wearing a silly ass ponytail....you know what I'm talking about! It's mentioned nearly anytime we discuss Madonna DVDs...it's already mentioned in this very thread!
