top ten 80's cheese

all my friends think I'm some kind of 80's cheese demon coz I'm always playing Prince, Madonna, Kim Wilde, Cyndi Lauper, New Order etc.

fair enough most of that is cheese but I take offence to them classifying Prince and New Order as pure cheese when he and them offer so much more.

so now I wanna show them what REAL cheese is, I'm talking rare gems like Koo Koo by Sheila E, Tom Tom Club and other stuff most people have never heard of unless they're obsessed with the 80's.

I hear this shit on 80's radio broadcasts all the time but can never remember the names.

And unfortunately I'm too young to remember most of the 80's so please I need your help,..

(nothing too obvious)

Basically anything from the FAST FORWARD (1985) Soundtrack. That's my favorite 80s cheese musical movie!

Also add...

Jermaine Stewart - We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off
Janet Jackson - All My Love To You
Matthew Wilde - Break My Stride
Cyndi Lauper - The Goonies 'R' Good Enough
Ollie & Jerry - There's No Stoppin' Us

Oh, I wish a dance club would hold an "80's CHEESE NIGHT" or something. I'd be there in a minute! I heart cheesy '80s euphoro-pop. lol

To me Samantha Fox epitomizes 80's cheese (her reign extended into the early 90's with "(Hurt Me! Hurt Me!) But The Pants Stay On") just as Britney epitomizes 00's cheese.

I figured you would come up with a pretty good list.

No one has mentioned Tiffany yet. I would also put pre Jam & Lewis New Edition in the "cheese" category.

Do you notice how in the '80s brunettes and redheads were considered hot (Pat Benetar, Joan Jett, The Runaways, Toni Basil, Alyssa Milano, Molly Ringwald, The Bangels, etc. etc.) but nowadays everybody's a bottle blonde (Britney, Xtina, Beyoncé, Jessica Simp, etc.)

Now I notice "rocker-chicks" are trying to bring back the "hot brunette" thing (Avril, Ashlee, Fefe, Michelle Branch, etc.)

yes, this qualifies. 1989. Michael Bolton's "soul provider"

"soul provider" "how can we be lovers" "when i'm back on my feet again" I love them tracks.....

And that "I want to know what love is" is mega cheesy. It was done by a "rock" band in mid 80's? I forget the name?
