Shep Pettibone remixes don't age well.
I don't like remasters with bonus tracks. I want the album to end where I remembered it ending. Put the bonus crap on another disc, please. Madonna probably feels box sets are for people's whose carears are over.
maybe we should wait til 2008, when she is eliegible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a good box set. If she ever left WB they would defenitly do a box set You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Exactly, and by the time you add in the third disc, it's best to just stick with the box set plan and add in a forth disc with rarities, b sides demos and remixes.... And a dvd to top it off. Probably Blonde Ambition.

jayaredee said: Warner Music Group is planning to re-release Madonna's 1989 album "Like A Prayer" in early 05 (March). The newly remastered CD should include bonus remix tracks (Like A Prayer - Shep Pettibone remix, Express Yourself - Stop and Go remix, Keep it Together remix). If the project gets a green light from Madonna herself, it will be released towards the end of March.
As far as her remix album is concerned, the CD is tentively put on the back burner. It was to be titled "American Dream" but it's not certain if it will be released commercially. In January Madonna will resume work on her documentary whose working title has changed to "Nobody Knows Me", but probably it shall change again. A DROWNEDMADONNA.COM EXCLUSIVE [Edited 1/2/05 17:43pm] WIll it be scented with Potchuli...or will she use an updated Kaballahishy scent. I recently did a "dump" of my cassettes, but kept that one for the nasty scent. But it was special in her way, so I kept it. I think I'd be disappointed if it wasn't scented. GrayKing said: as with the previous 3, i'll be skipping this until they can pull their heads out of their asses and do them right. the sound on them is great, but the bonus tracks are skimpy (at best).
before they tack on 2 or 3 remixes, they should be doing the non-album tracks. the first one should have included Ain't No Big Deal (and maybe a few unreleased things, or even some of the stuff from "Pre-Madonna"/"In The Beginning" Like A Virgin really needed to have Into The Groove, Crazy For You and Gambler. True Blue should have included Who's That Girl, Causing A Commotion, The Look of Love, Can't Stop and Spotlight. this one is missing Supernatural. until they put this stuff out (either on the remastered albums or as their own collection), i'm not going to bother with this series. i really want remastered Madonna albums, but i remain uninterested in a hit or miss remaster catalog from one of my favorite artists. I think at the very least those CDs needed to include songs that are not as available as they used to be like "Ain't No Big Deal" (I never did hear the verison WB issued) and the original "Into The Groove" (whenever a boxset comes out, they bettter get that right) but included songs from still available discs from the same era might be pushing it, as much as I would love those songs included as well.

A remix album is totally unnecessary.Nearly every Madonna single already comes with a slew of remixes that are available on the maxi-singles.In addition, she already released the 'Revisted and Remixed' EP. I don't understand a remix album either, since all of the AL singles have been put out in Maxi form (I'm assuming it was an AL remix album) and let's face it, the remixes this time around were not very memorable.

No, not an American Life remix album. That's already been done. [Edited 1/4/05 8:42am]

I was just thinking that Madonna really needs a good,career-spanning "Greatest Hits" CD...maybe a good 2-disc set.'The Immaculate Collection' is cool, but it only covers her 80s hits and some of the tracks are featured in lame remix form.'GHV2' was an attempt to cover her 90s material, but it's flawed in many ways.
i want my box set dammit the thing is, the IC still sells really well to this date. it's her best selling album with 22million copies worldwide But sadly, as many fans point out, it's very flawed by remixes, edits and exclusions.

I agree. Poor "I'll Remember" gets overlooked because it came out right before (or pretty close to before) "Bedtime Stories" and during the "David Lettermen" thing. Also, it was such a touching ballad...and from such a crap movie (why did she do that? Does anyone remember "With Honors"?). I think the album tracklisting would, and should, look something like this (which is pretty close to yours, Jaydree, so thanks for the inspriration). jayaredee said: 1. Holiday 2. Lucky Star 3.
