she just believes in quality control when it comes to releases. if it doesn't match her standards she won't release it.
as for the DVD i have a feeling they are still talking terms with Pioneer who got the rights to release the concert. Do they have a DVD branch? or did their entertainment dempartment die with the Laser Disc? as with the previous 3, i'll be skipping this until they can pull their heads out of their asses and do them right. the sound on them is great, but the bonus tracks are skimpy (at best).
before they tack on 2 or 3 remixes, they should be doing the non-album tracks. the first one should have included Ain't No Big Deal (and maybe a few unreleased things, or even some of the stuff from "Pre-Madonna"/"In The Beginning" Like A Virgin really needed to have Into The Groove, Crazy For You and Gambler. True Blue should have included Who's That Girl, Causing A Commotion, The Look of Love, Can't Stop and Spotlight. this one is missing Supernatural. until they put this stuff out (either on the remastered albums or as their own collection), i'm not going to bother with this series. i really want remastered Madonna albums, but i remain uninterested in a hit or miss remaster catalog from one of my favorite artists. Blond Ambition is apparently being readied for DVD release around the same time as the re-Invention DVD. "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

jayaredee said: Warner Music Group is planning to re-release Madonna's 1989 album "Like A Prayer" in early 05 (March). The newly remastered CD should include bonus remix tracks (Like A Prayer - Shep Pettibone remix, Express Yourself - Stop and Go remix, Keep it Together remix). If the project gets a green light from Madonna herself, it will be released towards the end of March.
I'm thrilled that this CD is finally being remastered, but why include remixes as "bonus tracks"? I'd rather have some of the outtakes from this album... "Possessive Love" "Love Attack" "First Is A Kiss" "Supernatural" and there is an early version of "Express Yourself" that co-producer Stephen Bray says is even better than the released version.

jayaredee said: As far as her remix album is concerned, the CD is tentively put on the back burner. It was to be titled "American Dream" but it's not certain if it will be released commercially.
A remix album is totally unnecessary.Nearly every Madonna single already comes with a slew of remixes that are available on the maxi-singles.In addition, she already released the 'Revisted and Remixed' EP.

Why doesn't she just simply release the documentary as a bonus feature on the 'Re-invention Tour' DVD? That would make a whole lot of sense, because I don't think it would do well as a theatrical release (if that's what she's planning).

I hope that Like A Prayer reissue could include the oil scent and that AIDS fact sheet from the original LP. I recently brought the original CD back in September of 2004 and it only included the AIDS sheet. So what was missing? Well, I heard the LP had an oil scent plus the fact sheet and there were limited edition pressings of the CD that had the scent and sheet. I'm just glad it's finally getting a remaster. Or maybe she could just release it to television and make a deal with CBS or HBO

I agree and i wasn't disagreeing with your point I just thought she should release it to television or something, but not on the dvd because she would make like no profit from it, and she had to hire a camera crew to follow her around and then she has to edit it and do touchups on it. Kind of a waste if you're just gonna tack it onto something IMO

I don't think CBS wants to have anything to do with Madonna, after they had to pay her $10 million for a concert special that never aired

Nope. From what I hear,Warners wants to release it,but Madonna is being stingy.

I think I'd have to buy this even though it only would add some remixes. My remixes from this era are all on vinyl and the sound quality of the original CD is crap. So it's be worth it to me. Although it'd be nice if it were done better...

You know what though? I was just thinking that Madonna really needs a good,career-spanning "Greatest Hits" CD...maybe a good 2-disc set.'The Immaculate Collection' is cool, but it only covers her 80s hits and some of the tracks are featured in lame remix form.'GHV2' was an attempt to cover her 90s material, but it's flawed in many ways.

I didn't include American Life stuff, bescause it's not really hits but you vould add track 19 of disc 2 to be american life, and it would end disc 2 nicely. i think i got all her #1 hits [Edited 1/3/05 7:28am]
