Why would u consider his "Style change" with the ATWIAD album and subsequent albums to be "mistakes?"

"Mistakes" probably was not the right word to use. I don't even know what word to use. My admiration of Prince was always more than just his his music, it was his image. In the early days, Prince was a symbol of feminine male strength. He was the exact opposite of the limp wristed, classical listening, ballet dancing stereotypes I had only known before I was exposed to Prince. Prince was 100% ass kicking "hard" that could beat anyone at their own game. The style change was a turnoff to me because I saw him as "weaker" and when I heard classical music on the "Parade" album, that really pissed me off.

Prince is an individual and has the right to do as he pleases but the strong role model for me was gone. I think I found my own individuality after his style change instead of totally looking up to Prince. The timing was perfect. Prince got me through the hard times of my youth and the style change made me find my own self and also see Prince as just a person rather than a God.

How did you find this site if you are not fans of prince. i saw some profiles and some said that they are not fans. i put this topic here because if they are not fans they won't look in the prince forum.

Theres lots of peeps here not interested in PRINCE at all. They seem 2 LOVE dissing him 4 everything. Then, LIKE ME... there R some who LOVE the man, but dont consider themselves FANS AS in FANATIC U know??? We just admire HIM as an artist and performer, and as a man who sets a good example 2 the music industry, and other facets of life that others can learn from if they pay attention, and dont diss him 4 acting his age and choosing his life path into spirtituality.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

When I started here I was in the Prince forum A LOT. Now, I only tend to be there if he's up to something new or if I'm REAAAALLLY bored.

It's a great forum. But, there's only so many times I can "list my favorite prince songs/album/era/etc". Or give thoughts to a "album" vs "album" thread. Or respond to an "Is Prince Gay?" question. And so on....

Co-Sign. I don't find the Prince Forum scary at all. But I too have grown weary of the same questions asked over and over. Then there's the dumb questions...that get repeated over and over.

AND if he WAS bi? how much would that matter? Even though he is. The hints are in the songs.....

Only if you are looking for the hints. and only if you believe everything P has set before you.

Not arguing...but it's NEVER been documented, rumored or anything...unlike other myths which have more basis than Prince being Bi. Did he have a boy fling or two...probably. But I think P is just someone REALLY comfortable with his sexuality.

I just cant see him with a man , if he was bi im sure it would have come out by now
prince nod im not against gay people or being bi-sexual but not Prince sad pout

A lot of people assume that if Prince was gay or bi he'd have said it by now, but I don't think that's necessarily true. Everyone, no matter how outspoken, has there secrets. Not saying he is, because I don't know either way, but it's very possible he may be gay or bi and just never have said so.

You do have a point. Again, not saying that he is -just that you can't beyond a doubt say that he isn't either.
Rock Hudson was in the closet for years and no one suspected a thing. He had this big movie-star, ladies' man image, and everyone fell for it. The only reason he eventually came out was because he forced to -he was dying of AIDS.

Sorry for all the silly people posting about stuff we not really care about, hun. The idea of the thread was a good one!

I can say I brought ONE fella over here who is not a big fan of Prince (He's a Bowie-nutter) and I can say he is still here regularly because of the madness.

As Darin said so beautiful; The Org is a novelty factor that tends to wear out after some time.

I'm less enthused as the years go by. 78-88 was a long time ago now. I still have all his albums after those years but let's face it, they're shit for the most part.

Maybe, but one or two good tracks per album just isn't good enough, and that's how it is to me. NPS, Crystal Ball, Rave, D&P, prince, Chaos and Disorder, Emancipation etc. All albums i can't say i've listened to in ages. I can honestly say there is zero chance of me ever listening to them in their entirety ever again.

I don't post there very often cuz most people r so up their own
& Prince's arse..

I don't think he's a released a truly great album since 1988..
That's 17 years of utter tosh..

I hate people's perception there of what good music or artistry means..
Like if it doesn't say witten, produced, composed, performed & arranged
by the same person then it must b commercial crap..unlike the cutting
edge 'Musicology' cd..
...Your coochie gonna swell up and fall apart...

It's okay to say you don't care for them, but to equate a musician's hard work with some turds in a toilet is something I would never do.
