How did you find this site if you are not fans of prince. i saw some profiles and some said that they are not fans. i put this topic here because if they are not fans they won't look in the prince forum.

most of them are joking, or they aren't a fan of recent work.

used to be a fan...then he went all "George Lucas crazy" and I don't much care for him now...
found this site years ago when it was the PPML...been here ever since (in one identity or another)...

I love Prince, I just think people take him way too seriously.

Yes the Prince:Music forum is nuts, but not as bad as the General Discussion forum.
I think i said there was a prince song i didn't like and i explained why. Well afterwards i got 50 posts pack at me saying how dumb i am.

Yeah, I'm a HUGE Prince collector, but I don't even bother goin' over to the Prince forum !!! Those Folks are trippin' Hard!! ....Really hard!!

I occasionally post in the Prince forum. But, that place is scary sometimes. Funny, thing is, if Prince.org were around say, 20-25 years ago, that's probably where I'd spend the majority of my time posting.

When I started here I was in the Prince forum A LOT. Now, I only tend to be there if he's up to something new or if I'm REAAAALLLY bored.

It's a great forum. But, there's only so many times I can "list my favorite prince songs/album/era/etc". Or give thoughts to a "album" vs "album" thread. Or respond to an "Is Prince Gay?" question. And so on....

I'm still a huge Prince fan but I'm not as big a fan as I used to be. From the beginning of Prince's career through "Purple Rain", Prince was my absolute idol. When he drasically changed his style beginning with "Around The World In A Day", I continued liking him but I no longer saw him as the 100%, absolute perfect, larger than life, figure that could do no wrong that I saw before. It also opened my tastes to explore more forms of music than I was previously listening to. As much as the style change was a disappointment, when I look back, I now see it as a good thing for me as a person. It forced me to grow up and see Prince as a human being that makes mistakes just like everyone else.

When I first joined the org, I used to post exclusively in the Prince forum but hell, there are only so many things you can talk about when it comes to just one artist. For a while now, I've been going back and forth from the Prince forum to the Music: Non-Prince forum. I do find it funny though how feathers get ruffled in the Prince forum if you make one negative remark about Prince. And if you diss the almighty "Parade" or "Sign O The Times" albums, you would think the world was coming to an end.

I was a HUGE fan between the mid-late 70s and the PR era. (Hence, my avatars are ALWAYS old school Prince.) But when PR blew up that's when my fandom began to wane. Guess the novelty wore off a bit. Besides, I was older and had other priorities.

I know Prince doesn't walk on water and he didn't event the color purple. And I don't feel that I have to love everything he does or says.

I for one am not a "fan" or "fanatic" of anyone nor anything. I am an admirer and a supporter.

well there's a whole SLEW of songs...but what jumps to me are the lyrics in Anna Stesia, he's not fooling me by singing in the second person, and that hallway speech in computer blue extended. there's more that some orgers have posted but i can't remember them all.
