"It Was A Good Day (Remix)" samples Staple Singers "Let's Do It Again".

"It Was A Good Day" samples Isley Brothers "Footsteps In The Dark".

I prefer the latter.

I like the Jungle Brothers - I'll House you (using the "Can you Feel it" shout from the jacksons live album.

Was that Randy or Jackie who said it? I think it was randy since he has a verse in the song.

Paul's Boutique has alot of great samples....It's to bad destinys child used edge of seventeen (one of my favorite songs) on that stupid booty song.

The worse use of a samlpe is tribes use of walk on the wild side. A great song should be sampled with care.

Another bad use of a sample is will smith using patrice rushens "forget me nots" on men in black.

I ain't got no money, I ain?t like those other guys you hang around.

I'm also not particularly fond of the artist formerly known as the fresh prince's sampling of "I wish" on Wild Wild west. Using such a great song for such a lame promotion of a lame movie is blasphemous

I totally agree. I like Tribe's first album but that one sample bugs me.

I'd also like to know which Jackson that was yellin "Can You Feel It!" because Original Concept (Concept & Rick Rubin) sampled that same hollar in 1986.

That "can you feel it" yell is off the Jackson's "Live". Guess I always thought it was Tito for some reason confused or some guy warming up the show.

Was it the radio edit that he used the Isley Bros. "Footsteps in the Dark"?

Then there must have been two videos, because I've only seen the video of the original version.

one of the worst uses of a sample...

though she has a great voice and has some good songs...

that song by Angie Stone, "No More Rain" or something that uses the ENTIRE Gladys Knight sample, "Neither One of Us"
...for that matter, if you're going to use a sample BE CREATIVE...either use a common sample in unique way (i.e. Dre's The Chronic using Parliament/Clinton samples) or use some obscure stuff or jazzy stuff (ATCQ or Gang Starr)

---ok...i'm done twocents
